Hello and welcome to my campaign website! This is the main page with a brief candidacy overview and information on how to navigate my site. After browsing the three main sections you should have an idea of the type of representative I would be for MITs on the APA Board! Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I hope to get a chance to work with you on behalf of our APA.

Voting in the APA elections is now open! Please do take the time to vote for your APA representatives.
                Best wishes, Andrea

                A brief candidacy overview...

I would be honored to represent Members-In Training (MITs) on the APA Board. I believe that the continued strength of the APA will be critical to our careers. MITs have a unique opportunity to both modernize the APA and develop additional programs for MITs, particularly through our group expertise in utilizing new electronic technologies that are transforming society. Through new media strategies, we could develop remote mentorship programs, advocacy groups, career development seminars, and nation-wide MIT networks. As your representative on the board, I would strive to protect existing MIT opportunities in the APA while enhancing mentorship and MIT networking. I would seek your input and collaborate with other MIT leaders to address changes that are directly affecting trainees and make sure that our voices and concerns are heard. I would also continue working on issues about which I am passionate, including adolescent health, minority mental health, promoting civil rights, and developing educational programs based on wellness and brain health. With PhD training in Community Health and Cultural Studies, I am knowledgeable about many of the national and internal policy discussions the Board faces. With experience as a president and co-founder of organizations, national board member, local community organizer, educator, and mentor I am prepared to effectively advocate for and mobilize MITs. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you on behalf of our APA.
